I will always remember the early days of my passion for photography when I would wait to borrow my father's camera
and go exploring the local streets for interesting things to photograph. I also remember how simple those days were - a basic SLR, a roll
of slide film, and a trip to the local store for developing the photos. Even when I entered photography professionally
and began to specialise in high quality black and white printing, the technical side of photography was still quite straight forward.
Now with the onset of the exciting world of digital photography, so many things have changed. The technical scope for learning seems never ending for the professional photographer and the new tools available are both exciting and at times daunting. For me now only a small part of the process is taking the photo. The rest of the time is taken up correcting the image with the software, calibrating equipment, printing the image, and now a new avenue for me - archival quality framing - all done in-house.
Today's photographer must also explore the large world of promotion available via the internet and all that entails. This new release of
our site has taken many months of programming to develop the site and setup the new store. Who would have thought as a young kid, you could develop
a website on a computer and then upload it to another part of the world at great speed for someone in another country to view your work - exciting
times.
Fortunately with all these new tools available for today's photographer one thing does not change, and that is raw talent, which I
love to see in any artistic work. My father once told me of a saying by the great Louis Armstrong "if you ain't got it, I can't teach it to
you". I do hope you enjoy viewing our website and I hope to hear from you - please see the "contact us" link at the bottom of any
page.
With kind regards
